WAITANGIRUA MURALS JAN 2013
Its a great way to start the year when you get 12 talented artists hanging out for a week and creating beautiful mural pieces on the big front wall of the Waitangirua Mall.
It got me back into what I loved doing and it was an inspiration to view and experience the different styles and methods of the other artists.
Below are the artists in order of the wall position, Left to right.

"Resilience" Group exhibition
Bowen House Gallery Wellington Part of the Wellington festival ..on now until march "The reason for the title Resilience... Pacific peoples have remarkable resilience in the face of natural disasters like hurricanes. The 2009 tsunami in Samoa and Tonga was the immediate inspiration for this title. But in fact Pacific peoples have also recovered from the challenging experience of migration to become a significant community in contemporary NZ in daily life contributing to sports, politics, arts, entertainment and certain professions. Many still face hardship with unemployment, poor health and housing. New leaders with new ideas are emerging and show the resilience of the early pioneers to make a better life for the future." caption written by Marilyn Kohlhase |
